Happy Snow to you!
Here at the official weathertrex.com world headquarters I have about a 1/2-3/4″ of snow. The status of the ‘nowcast’ is that the precip shield is beginning to blossom as the upper-level energy interacts with the bombing surface storm off the coast. I’m comfortable with at least 2″ and generally 3-5″ from RDU east. And yes, I still think that some favored locations get 6-8″, although the earlier potentials for up to 10″ may not be realized. The roads will be slow to accumulate snow, although if you saw the video out of Nash county from earlier this afternoon, you understand what can happen to the roads in bursts of heavy snow! I was frankly amazed at how quickly the roads covered.
